State Deputy's message

Jean Moyen

Brother Knights, members of our great Columbian family, friends, visitors, welcome! Our website is designed as a reliable information source for those who wish to help others and live their Catholic faith.

Who are we?

The Knights of Columbus Order was founded in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1882 by a young Parish Priest, Abbott Michael J. McGivney, with the help of committed faithful laymen, desirous of helping widows and orphans. Soon thereafter, a Bishop added the religious commitment of the Roman Catholic Church.

As soon as 1897, a small group of Catholic men joined forces to establish Counsel 284 in Montreal. Since then, Councils have been established throughout Quebec, always with the same goals. Today, there are more than 100,000 members, solely in Quebec, under the direction of 569 Councils. Worldwide, there are over 1,750,000 members. We are proud to help needy members of our society, to be the living witnesses of the Church, supporting our Bishops, Priests and appointed Deacons, of helping parishioners committed to educating our youth in living as practising faithful Catholics.

You are certainly aware that the 100,000 Quebec members are constantly involved in humanitarian causes; worldwide Knights contribute over 65,000,000 hours to volunteerism, spread among a multitude of social and community causes, for the benefit of the youth, the elderly and the needy.
Gentlemen, do you wish to help, do good, do volunteer work? We need your help, the “rejected” need your help. Are you interested in joining our ranks? Then come meet us!

How can you join?

We are established in every town and almost every village in Quebec. Premises which are identified with the emblem of the Knights of Columbus house a council. Your Parish Priest may also help you to reach us. You may also email us your coordinates at the following address and we will contact you: secretariat@chevaliersdecolomb.com
We look forward to meeting you.

Thank you for visiting the Knights of Columbus of Quebec Website.

Yours truly,
Vivat Jesus!
